protect_default_folders makes impossible to subscribe to default folders

Description

In some rare cases it happens that one is unsubscribed from default folders.
With protect_default_folders setting set to true one cannot subscribe to these protected folders.

I suggest to add functionality to check these subscriptions (and subscribe to default folders) at every login, or at least always enable subscription in folder settings.
