Create PNG icon sets to go with GIF sets

Description
Is it possible to get the author of the icon sets to create png versions for inclusion with the default skin? The gif matte backgrounds stand out to prominently on non-whitish backgrounds.

The task bar icons are what I am looking for in PNG, so that the alpha channel + shadow effect looks correct on non-white backgrounds.

The images are optimized to display properly in the default skin with the smallest possible file size. They're saved as GIF if we don't need truecolor or alpha channel.
However, please tell me which files you need as PNG and I'll add them to the repository but without actually using them in the default skin.
