translator.roundcube.net removes all new (x)html elements

while using translator.roundcube.net I found the following issue and I am not really sure if that behavior is a bug or intended: While generating the translation file after editing strings all (x)html elements from changed strings are removed and links in not-changed strings are getting escaped.
In detail: When changing a string and adding (x)html elements (e.g. "<br/>", <a href="url">, </a>, and even <lol>) they are removed while generating the translation. But there are some strings (e.g. "importtext"), which include (x)html elements in the English texts and therefore it should be possible to add these elements to the translated strings, too.
Secondly I found the following issue: When downloading a generated translation, in which a string was not changed, but had a '<a href="my-url">' element in it, the (x)html element is not deleted, but the url in the element gets escaped to '<a href=\"my-url\">'. Is this behavior intended?
I think some (x)html elements ("<br />", "<a href=\"url\">", "</a>", maybe "<b>"...) should be allowed to be used at translator.roundcube.net and all URL should be escaped.
