"+"-icon used to add contacts to address book is unintuitive

Description

The "+"-icon next to sender/receiver of the message for adding the contact to address book is unintuitive. Textual link with text: "add to address book" or icon with image of addressbook could be more intuitive.

When I first tried Roundcube I thought that this icon would expand some tree node (to show different receivers of the messages) or something else. This is a handy feature so it should not be hidden.

How about something like this?

I concur. Voting for a small '+' next to a tiny book.

I disagree, but oh well. :)

"+" (aka "plus") never looked to me like it reveals "more information". It looked like "I am adding this to my address book". Not sure what extended information you would expect there to slide out.

I am postponing this to 0.2-beta because this is not a bug. If anything at all, it is a UI improvent (= feature request).

You want this in front of every email?

Actually the suggested icon is something I was thinking of. If it just could be done some way "lighter" and still understandable it would fit better on every email.

-1 from me

I thought the "+" was for showing full name + email address like in Thunderbird, where you have the option to hide email addresses if sender name is in the address book

That's why we have title attributes stating what this button does. In any application, if I don't know what a certain button does I hover it and wait for the tooltip to tell me what it's good for.

Also icons are defined by the skin. If you don't like it, simply change <roundcube:object name="messageHeaders" addicon="/images/icons/plus.gif" /> to whatever you want.
