Signature newline and text vs HMTL

There is strange behavior when switching between HTML and txt editor when looking at the signature.

1. If have set the signature as follows. I create new e-mail with HTML editor set as default I switch to text-editor and then the newline is gone and is ----------------My name The newline is gone

--------------------------
My name

2. Also when switching between identities the signature is inserted multiple time. Just wondering is this is correct behavior
