Sending Mail to Hotmail account and SMTP problem

Not sure if this has anything to do with roundcube but, I have setup everything, and first of all i cannot seem to send an email via my smtp server all i get is a "failed to send message" error, also when sending with phpmail() it seem to not send to a hotmail account at all, eventhough it shows as "sent successfuly". I can send to any account when i use telnet. all receiving is fine, just cant send properly.

Please check the logs/errors file in Roundcube and your SMTP server logs.

backend server problem - sending messages to HM tested and works
