Obviously, RoundCube requires activated JavaScript? and
Cookies (or am I wrong here), without notice. Both is
poor -- I would only install a webmail solution for
several domains' users if it may be used without
JavaScript? and Cookies as well.

Plus, if there is a requirement like J/S and Cookies,
it should be clearly mentioned in the login window,
right now with the wrong (or "safe") settings, the
login is just not accepted and the average user thinks
the password is wrong.

No JavaScript is no good idea - i know one company forced us
i build our own app working without JS, but this is nothing
cool and if you don't have Javascript you are wide away from
a "Desktop" app. You cannot get a RICH application without
JS. I hope there will be a drag and drop feature in future
releases, for moving mails to folders - and again - this is
simply unpossible if JS is deactivated.

Without cookies shouldn't be a technical problem in general
and i can only agree here. but you should then have all
traffic SSL tunneled! Without - others can hijack your
session... (and a IP limitation is nothing that helps here)
Asside, IP limitation is no good idea in general without
SSL. If somebody is behind a proxy he will be kicked out if
his IP changes... german t-online proxys are a good example
here. every click a new and different ip - thats fun if you
don't have to login after every click.

Additional, put a P3P config on your server and tell the
rest of the users, they shouldn't block cookies at all (IE
Users should use max "HIGH") - suxxx paranoids.

RoundCube is an "advanced" mail client and all functionality relies on client side javascript. Please don't use RoundCube if you don't agree with the requirements. There won't be any changes to that.
