Mouseclick behaviour

Possibility to open a message via one mouseclick 
instead of double click now, and selection of messages 
via e.g. checkboxes.

I see two 'issues':
- Opening a message via double-click is counter-
intuitive as normally a link on the internet would 
open with one click
- To select multiple messages you need to hold the 
shift key and click. But this causes text on the page 
to be selected/hightlighted also.

The highlighting text while doing a select-click is a bug
which I believe has been resolved.  If that is not the case
(with a recent version) please log it as a bug.  As for
going with the checkbox/single click paradigm, it's my
opinion that that goes against the stated goal of RC which
is an "application-like user interface" (fromthe front
page).  Also what is lost in "intuitive" web-like behavior
(and if it's so intuitive, why is Web 2.0/Ajax so popular?)
is gained in the increased functionality that
differentiating between single and double clicking adds.
